Reflection on the Vision

As I read and reflect on our Chapter Vision of '04 and the challenge to “seek truth, make peace, reverence life,” I find myself overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity of parish ministry. The career change after 38 years in pharmacy to parish ministry has stretched me to a new level of study and contemplative prayer. I find opportunities through daily living and interaction with parishioners to promote lay leadership, reverence for life and the making of peace. It is my hope that in a spirit of peace and Dominican joy I model to those to whom and with whom I minister the challenges of our Vision. Together we can and will make a difference.

The seeking of truth, opportunities to praise, to bless and to preach have opened a new and deeper understanding of our Dominican heritage. I find energy, strength and courage in/through our Vision.
