The Office of Development

About Us

The Development Office, the fundraising arm of the Adrian Dominican Sisters,

• provides opportunities to share in our efforts to fund:

retirement — for senior sisters who were your teachers, nurses and social workers throughout the United States and abroad
ministries — work with the poor, underserved and marginalized
in the areas of education, health care and social services
special projects — specific efforts, such as women's centers, children's education, adult literacy centers and spirituality centers
missions — outreach in the Dominican Republic, South Africa and Haiti where our sisters work with those in need
general use — for the priority needs of the Congregation

• continues relationships with the alumni of our schools, through mailings, reunions, and keeping current data

• communicates with families, friends and donors of the Adrian
Dominican Sisters about the vision and ministries of the Congregation and the use and effects of their gifts.

How to Partner With Us:

One way to partner with us and to support the life and ministry of the Congregation is to contribute monetary gifts in any of the following ways:

• Cash
• Pledges
• Annual gifts
• Memorial/tribute gifts
• Planned gifts such as: gift annuities, charitable bequests, retirement plans,
insurance policies and trusts
• Gifts of stock

How Will My Gift Affect Others?

Outreach Ministries

Ministry Trust Fund
The Ministry Trust Fund was established to provide continued funding for the outreach ministries of the Congregation and its institutions.

All gifts ensure that the mission and ministry of the Adrian Dominican Sisters will continue.

The Ministry Trust Fund is not fully funded. The growth of the Trust is necessary and ongoing to provide for future support.

Your gift will touch the lives of those most in need, underserved and vulnerable, particularly women and children.

Grants are provided annually by the Ministry Trust in the areas of education, health care, and social services.

The Ministry Trust special appeal "In Service With Others" raised close to 5 million dollars in the last two years with the help of the most generous charitable giving. With your continued support, the Fund will continue to grow and provide funding for those in need.

Missions
The missionary work of the sisters in the Dominican Republic, South Africa and Haiti are supported by the Congregation as well as by generous benefactors. Gifts designated for global missions are used for that special missionary effort.

Special Projects
Gifts designated for a specific ministry of the Congregation, i.e. literacy, spirituality and outreach.

My Gift to the Ministry Trust Will:

Provide program development at DePorres P.L.A.C.E., a literacy center in South Florida.

Provide workshops and study materials for children learning about peace and justice in Dominican schools in Miami, Florida, and Latin America.

Provide counseling services for families of deaf and disabled children in South Florida.

Provide a nurse practitioner and medicine for the poor at clinics in Appalachia and Mt. Clemens, Michigan.

Encourage poor women and their families to gain economic stability within a faith-based community that offers support and education in Juarez, Mexico.

Provide childcare services at a homeless shelter while parents seek employment in St. Charles, Illinois.

Assist single-parent mothers and grandmothers raising children to become self-sufficient providers for their families in Flint, Michigan.
